Harnessing Gifts: Clean Products

Our skin is the largest organ of our body. Yet so many harmful chemicals, often unnecessary chemicals are lurking in our laundry wash, cleaning products, makeup, face wash, shampoos/conditioners and more.
**Note I don't make any money based on the product recommendations below. I just want to see people living their best and healthiest lives.
Clothes Detergent
Laundry wash used to be made from soap. But I realized not only were they not made from soap anymore, but they also contained other ingredients that had health effects including allergen producing ingredients. Cal Ben used to be a wondeful company for clean deteregent. But they now have sodium metasilicate, rated F on EWG Healthy Living, due to this ingredient being rated high in causing skin allergies & irritation along with asthma & respiratory issues. It was sad to notice in 2022, that many of their soap based products had changed. Unfortunately, they never informed their customers of this change. If you can, look for as little ingredients as possible for your laundry cleaner. In the past clothes were washed with soap. There is no need for fragrances, they are a marketing trick to make us to believe that smells mean the clothes are clean. In fact, many fragrances have health risk factors, including allergies and Immunotoxicity. Makeup/Face-wash/Shampoos/Face Creams
In 2018, I began to notice so many women I knew were becoming sick. Everyone was dealing with one issue or another. At the same time, I noticed my mascara began to cause my eyelid to swell up. That started me on the journey of understanding what was in my mascara and so much more.
First, let me say, most of the expensive brands in the malls (especially in 2018), were filled with the most toxic chemicals! I used to think if you pay more, you end up with higher quality and healthier products. But, this could not be further from the truth. At the time, I was so shocked with how many products were coming back with harmful ingredients that I began a website just to help others know there are healthier products out there. They weren't marketed as much as other products, but they existed.
I created this site, with various products listed and my impression of each product. Yet, I found over time some of these brands went out of business or were being bought up and their ingredients were changing. There seems to be a trend of when someone thing healthier for you, the company would fail or be bought up and the product line changed.
I then began purchasing much of my makeup from Australian brands. They have much stricter guidelines for their products. One ingredient that I found was in almost all American brand makeup is an ingredient called Titanium Dioxide. Titanium Dioxide is a whitening agent and can be used for sunscreen purposes. But exposure to it has been linked to lung cancer. Not to mention it is also used in foods within US and Canada (although banned in 2022 in Europe). https://www.ewg.org/foodscores/ingredients/7437-TitaniumDioxide/. In the US it is used gum, soda, candy, chocolate, sauces, dairy products, cake decorations. The question to ask is why? This ingredient seems to be just an additive that is not needed in our makeup or foods, is a known health hazard - yet the FDA allows it. California had listed this ingredient as a known carcinogen. Yet it was not allowed to be stated on makeup and later allowed to still be included in food.
The more people become aware of how our health is under attack, the more people will be able to make healthier choices that will make the corporations change their behavior. It is as if they are purposely wanting to keep people sick so that people do not realize who and what they are, and their full potential.
Taking Your Power Back
What can you do? The good news is there much more cleaner brands available now than five years ago. As we change where we spending our money, the manufacturers will be forced to change their behavior.
In terms of laundry cleaners, Simply Co Laundry Detergent appears to be a company with limited ingredients that uses soap based laundry cleaners. Companies can and do change their ingredients as the example above with Cal Ben, so please every once in a while double check the ingredients.
Cleaning Products:
The same is true for cleaning products. So many of them are filled with heavy toxins. Instead you can make cleaning solutions easily at home.
Granite Cleaner and Disinfectant:
1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
2 drops concentrated dish soap
20 drops organic eucalyptus essential oil (antifungal, ant-bacteria, and antiviral) or use tea tree oil (also - antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral properties)
Fill rest of bottle with distilled water or filtered water
Place in glass spray bottle and shake, done!
All Purpose Spray
1 drop concentrated dish soap
Distilled water or filtered water
Place in glass spray bottle and shake, done!
This is so much more cost effective and healthier for you.

Cleaner Makeup Brands:
These are some of the healthier makeup brands I have found. But again, please double check the ingredients as brands can and do change their ingredients without warning. Australian brands appear to have stricter guidelines in terms of makeup ingredients.

As a community, with the awareness we can come together to share cleaner products and make our own. We no longer need to be beholden to companies, whose purpose is profit at the cost of others health. We can take back our power, in order to elevate our energy. Illness lowers our energy and vibration. Everything carries energy with it.
